IR SHORT WAVE QUARTZ EMITTER

The short wave emitter delivers high heating power with a very fast response. It is the right choice when a process needs to switch on and off quickly and put a lot of energy onto the material in a short time.

At a glance

  • Radiation peak: 1.1-1.4 µm
  • Maximum nominal power density: 80 W/cm
  • Maximum surface power density: 200 kW/m²
  • Filament on/off response: 1 to 2 seconds
  • Working position: horizontal (vertical on request)

How it works

Helios matches the peak radiation wavelength to the material’s absorption curve so the process runs efficiently with less energy. A gold, white or ruby reflector can be applied directly to the quartz tube to focus the emitted energy where it is needed.

Applications

Short wave emitters suit high-power, fast-cycling processes: rapid heating, curing and any application where a 1 to 2 second response matters. They are common where throughput and tight temperature timing are priorities.

FAQ

When should I pick short wave over medium wave?

Choose short wave when you need high power and a fast on/off response (1-2 seconds). Medium wave suits surfaces and thin materials that absorb in the longer band.

What is the fastest response time?

Short wave emitters switch on and off in 1 to 2 seconds.

Single tube or twin tube?

Both are produced. Twin tube gives the strongest build and lengths up to 6.5 metres; single tube short wave emitters are also available.

Can I add a reflector?

Yes. Gold, white or ruby reflectors are applied directly to the quartz tube.
